01/10/24 Tues. Ana has now made a new sail cover for our
mainsail but we need a windless morning to hoist the mainsail, fit the
new cover and the reefing lines.
02/10/24 Weds. Moving onto making a new dinghy cover - there is
nothing wrong with the old one but Ana said we need a new grey one to
match the sail cover!
08/10/24 Tues. Over
to the seaplane hangar again today to measure up 3 more sails (from 2
boats) that need repairs - I don't think we will ever get away from
here!
11/10/24 Fri.
Ana has almost finished the new bimini for Graeme, our new dinghy cover
is on the dinghy.
27/10/24 Sun. Nothing
much has changed over the last couple of weeks, we've been over in the
seaplane hangar most days with serious repairs to the three sails and a
sprayhood clearview screen. Various other 'little' sewing jobs have been
thrust onto Ana as well. The weather hasn't been kind to us just lately,
with two typhoons up around Luzon causing strong winds and rain here in
PP. I have extended my visa for a further two months but don't
want to stay that long, as soon as the sewing jobs are done and the wind
settles into north easterlies, we will leave. A Russian boat wants
their sail repaired but they failed to bring it over to the hangar when
we told them to, so they've lost their chance for that now.
29/10/24 Tues. Trying
to change the clearview material in the sprayhood of Songlines III,
but we are having trouble with the machine timing so had to abandon that
job and I will try to sort out the problem.
30/10/24 Weds.
Somehow I've hurt my back and it's causing me some grief. I think
it must have been through lifting 120 litres of fresh water onboard
yesterday - taking it a little easier today!
31/10/24 Thurs.
A little success with the machine timing but it still isn't right and
the job in hand is only partially completed.
