09/10/22 Sun. Another USN ship arrived about 3 days ago,
the USS Brunswick, a fast catamaran. She is equipped with four MTU
V20 diesels as her main propulsion and I'm sure glad I don't have to pay
the fuel bills as each engine consumption is over 2,000 litres an hour!
17/10/22 Mon. Up early this morning to take Ana to the
airport for her flight home to Manila, and it was blowing a hooley and
pouring with rain! At the airport by 0400 and I was back onboard
by 0515. On my own now for the next two weeks.
31/10/22 Mon. Nothing much going on over the last two weeks, rain
most days and some strong winds. I've been into town just the
once! Today though, I spent some time in the yacht club, then went
up to Robinsons and bought some electric switches and a bite to eat.
Now I had 3 hours to kill before Ana's flight was due in and I decided
to walk slowly to the airport. When almost there, I stopped in a
little roadside cafe and had a couple of coffees - still over an hour to
wait. At the airport, I discovered that Ana had still not boarded
the aircraft in Manila and there was a 3 hour delay to the flight!
It was a long wait outside the airport building (you can't go inside
unless travelling). Finally, she arrived and we got a trike back
to the yacht club and got onboard just after 11pm.
