01/11/24 Fri.  Another day spent getting the machine timing correct, I'm sure it's spot on now but it still occasionally skips a stitch.  A further problem is the alignment of the feed dogs, they seem to catch each other as the presser foot starts to lift. There is nothing in the manual or online about how to set them correctly, so I am going by trial and error at the moment.  At least the pressure is off for sewing jobs at the moment!  The typhoon which was north of Luzon has now developed into a super typhoon as it heads over Taiwan, and I imagine there will be serious damage with the 110 knot winds.  Here it is just causing some strong gusts and rain.

02/11/24 Sat. I think I've figured out the feed dog problem, and today I've been resetting them. The machine is now working but I'm not happy with it as yet. We will wait until Ana starts using it again and see what happens.

08/11/24 Fri. Ana is today using the machine to make a sprayhood for Zosha and although it is working fine with the stitch pattern, it is making more noise than I like, so I will be making further adjustments later on.  Boats continue to arrive and depart in the anchorage and yesterday saw the first cruise ship of the season to arrive, the MS Noordam which only stayed until 5pm before continuing it's last leg of a 28 day cruise to Hong Kong.

15/11/24 Fri. Same same - Ana continues to make sprayhood for Zosha, a cover for Graeme's boat while I wait to get access to the engine for an oil change and filter clean. The Coastguard paid us a visit this morning wanting to know country of origin and my name, no doubt to check with immigration that I am allowed to be here.

23/11/24 Sat. A big firework display tonight at the People's Park and we had a grandstand view!  No real idea what it was all about but there is some sort of sporting competition going on and all the hotels are fully booked with students in team shirts.

27/11/24 Weds. Ana keeps sewing, hatch covers for Marc, engine cover for the seaplane, turtle bag for Ray's spinnaker. Pete's sprayhood/cockpit enclosure is an ongoing job and now the seaplane needs a windscreen cover made.  Ana's Mum has been taken ill and is in hospital, so she will be flying to Manila soon to see her, which will obviously put our sailing plans back some.

30/11/24 Sat.  Booked Ana's flight to Manila and return, I was going to go with her but the prices have skyrocketed as it's coming up to Christmas, so I will stay onboard.
