07/11/13  Now free of all dressings and visits from the district nurse, I am slowly getting back to normal.  I'm walking into the village each day (it's about a half mile each way) and my wounds are healing nicely.  I have a follow up appointment with my consultant at the hospital on the 10th December and I'm hoping that he will reduce the number of meds I have to take as a result of that meeting.  Thank you to everyone who has sent me good luck messages and e-mails, they are very much appreciated.

27/11/13  Distance walked each day is now more than doubled and I'm feeling fine.  The only small problem at the moment is slight numbness in my left hand which seems to be lessening with each passing day.  Friends Babs and Trev from Kent drove up to see me yesterday which was great and much appreciated - lovely to see them after so long.  Astrid in Germany is still undergoing cancer treatment and is putting on a brave face despite the constant pain and I hope to be able to visit her again in the not too distant future.
