01/03/23 Weds. Repaired genoa sail for Bertel and Frel,
using the seaplane hangar again for the repair.
03/03/23 Fri. We were on 'Zizi' for most of the day
while Ana made a cover pattern for their new dinghy.
04/03/23 Sat. Cruise ships are once more visiting the
Philippines after the Covid pandemic. Last month, the first one in
three years, "Seabourn Encore" arrived in Puerto Princesa on a 14 day
cruise, earlier this week the Dutch ship "Westerdam" docked for 12 hours
and today a P & O Cruise ship, the "Arcadia" arrived on a 100 day/99
night World cruise from Southampton.
06/03/23 Mon. Another cruise ship docked, this time it was
the Oceania Cruise ship "Nautica".
07/03/23 Tues. Yet another cruise ship - the "Seven
Seas Mariner" made a day visit today, the only cruise ship in the World
with all en suite cabins and all with a balcony. She is on a
cruise from Miami to Barcelona and if you feel like joining her, tickets
are between 78,000 and 209,000 USD for the entire cruise - I think I
might give that a miss!!
11/03/23 Fri. Extended my visa this morning although I
didn't really want to - I want to get going and sail back to Kudat but
Ana is still sewing dinghy cover for Zizi's new dinghy, so I guess we
have to stay for a few days!
12/03/23 Sat. Another two jobs have dropped into Ana's lap,
window covers for a French owned catamaran and some winch covers for
another cat.
19/03/23 Sun. Ana continues her sewing jobs. Jun came over
and cleaned the bottom of the boat for me and I have sorted out an
electrical fault which involved taking down the nav berth ceiling, two
walls and three switch panels!
21/03/23 Tues. The vernal equinox and the funeral service
of my brother Clive. I am sad not to be able to say my final
goodbye to him but thanks to Kevin, I was able to watch the service live
by streaming on the internet.
26/03/23 Sun. Today it's Clive's birthday, I hope he's
having a whisky somewhere.
28/03/23 Tues. We are slowly getting the boat ready for
heading off to Kudat. 'Star Breeze', another cruise liner
docked this morning on a 14 day one way trip from Singapore to Hong
Kong. Two more cruise ships are scheduled here on the 2nd April.
