/12/23 Tues.  The rain continues every day and the batteries are not reaching full charge.  I am trying to figure out a way of increasing the alternator output and I think I know the reasons why it is not putting out it's full capability, but the solution(s) are not easily implemented!  Ana went to the agents in town yesterday and applied to extend her visa for another 30 days - they will call her when it's done.  I have had no response from Cactus about my non-working NASA depth gauge but then I didn't really expect one.

/12/23 Thurs.  Replaced the engine start battery today with new.  The alternator is putting out 35amps at engine tick over speed but I'm sure that the battery is not receiving that much, I will have to check the wiring in a day or two.

/12/23 Sun. Terry and Jennifer left this morning, heading towards Phuket - I will miss having coffee with them on their boat!  The rains continue and the solar panels are only putting out a few amps, the controller has stayed on 'bulk' charge for the last 21 days, so the batteries are not getting up to full charge.  Ana's passport is back with her new visa, so OK now for another 4 weeks.

/12/23 Tues.  I've been looking at changing some of the battery wiring, re-routing some of the cables etc.  The big problem is obtaining un-cut lengths of cable!  It is not available anywhere that I can find, only in pre-cut lengths of 1 foot for car earth cables.  I have managed to order an 8 foot length of black online but I now have to wait for that delivery.

/12/23 Fri. I've been doing a few odd jobs around the boat, mostly electrical and putting off the  battery cable job!  The weather is unchanged and we have rain almost every day with just the occasional short sunny period. Ana continues to make Barbie doll dresses to send to the Philippines. On Sunday we will go to KK with Richard, just to bring his car back here to Kudat as he is going to Bali for a couple of months.

/12/23 Sun. Drove down to KK this morning to drop off Richard and bring his car back to Kudat.  The drive down wasn't too bad and there was less traffic than I anticipated, coming back however was somewhat different with a lot of traffic and almost continuous heavy rain.

/12/23 Mon.

/12/23 Tues. Christmas Day was a quiet affair with most of our friends gone to other places.  We had to stay inside the boat for the day as we had constant thunderstorms and heavy rain all day - and today has been much the same!

/12/23 Sat. Richard had a cold on Christmas Eve when we drove him to KK - now I have it!  Feeling a little better today though, so hopefully it will go in a day or two. Ana's final visa extension will run out at the end of next month, so today I booked flights to Manila for the end of January, we will have a week there.
