09/08/22 Tues. Very little of importance happening, we spend the days tidying up, dumping rubbish and finding stowage space for the piles of clothes, spares, tools etc., - very depressing! Neil (Shelley) returned today with his friend Richard and we all met up in the yacht club for our evening meal.
11/08/22 Thurs. Another couple of days doing practically nothing! Helped Neil with his outboard engine today and found a split fuel pipe which will need to be replaced. We got a telephone summons from Immigration this afternoon and will have to attend there tomorrow morning, so let's hope we get a small extension and not thrown in jail!
12/08/22 Fri. We went into Immigration this morning at 0800 and waited 2 hours, they were very polite with us and told us that we could have a 30 day special pass, however, that would be the last one and we would have to leave Malaysia during that time. That's OK by us, we will get the boat ready and head up to Puerto Princesa for a while.
15/08/22 Mon. It's been a few days of helping others with various tasks, new arrivals, moving boats from the slipway to anchor, outboard engine faults, sewing jobs, etc. etc.
22/08/22 Mon. Took Mark and Kim ashore this morning, they are off to KK for a few days. Richard went with them on his way home to Bali. Ana is still doing sewing jobs for various yachts. Our time is running out now and I think we will also have to make a trip to KK before we leave, pick up a few things and get some bacon etc and cancel my internet contract with Digi.
23/08/22 Tues. I tried today to cancel my Digi contract online with their customer service but it's a no go - you have to go to the Digi store in person to cancel. Even though I told them the store was some 200Km away, they still say you have to go in - great service! So, we've booked a car for Thursday and will drive down, stay the night and come back on Friday. I changed the primary fuel filter this morning and bled the system of air, then ran the engine for 30 mins.
24/08/22 Weds. Running around in the dinghy this morning getting jerry cans of water from the marina, visiting Terry and Jennifer on their boat at anchor, trying to get epoxy resin from the yard but they only have 5 litre cans. Collected rental car at 6pm - a new car with only 6000Km on the clock (and bright red!)
25/08/22 Thurs. Set off at 6am this morning and we were sitting in Coffee Bean in Damai by 9am - a good run down and uneventful. Spent the day going to Penampang, Colombong, Inanam looking for soldering equipment and epoxy resin, none of which is available.
26/08/22 Fri. Another morning shopping for various food stuffs before setting off back to Kudat, arriving there at 2pm. Night in the yacht club with all the other yachties, some of whom (iincluding us) will be leaving soon for the Philippines and Thailand.
29/08/22 Mon. Still clearing up the boat for sea, there is a typhoon off Japan at the moment which is heading southwards towards Taiwan and Luzon, on Tuesday 6th it begins to head north again, so I'm currently looking at sailing on Tuesday morning and heading northwards on the tail of it.
