/09/25 Mon. After much changing of the gimbal system of the new cooker, fixing gas pipes and cursing the build quality of the company responsible for the cooker, it is finally in place and working, but we ran out of gas almost immediately!

/09/25 Tues. A morning at the laundry in Friendly Town and collecting a gas bottle refill at Soni Bumi.  I just need to make some sort of gimbal lock now for the cooker but that can wait until tomorrow.

/09/25 Fri. Not much been happening in the daily life onboard, the cooker was finished and we've tried it out with a couple of roast chicken dinners along with the usual meals, all good. Tonight there was a huge thunderstorm overhead which woke us up at 11 o'clock and kept us awake until the early hours of the morning.

/09/25 Sat. We heard today that one of the yachts anchored outside the pond was hit by lightning last night, so they will have a lot of electric items to replace now! Ran the engine for an hour this morning to make sure all was well with that and to pump some oil around it's moving parts. Fitting eyelets to Shelley's new bimini top which is still ongoing, there must be about 200 eyelets to fit.

/09/25 Sun. Anniversary of my leaving Gillingham Marina and the start of this trip! 19 years gone by without me noticing!

/09/25 Mon. Sixteen years since my Mum passed away and I still think of her every day.

/09/25 Weds. We checked out today with Jabatan Laut, Customs and Immigration with the intention of leaving tomorrow and heading north.

/09/25 Thurs. The weather is not favourable for our trip up to Puerto Princesa, a super typhoon of category 5 (Ragasa) is approaching Luzon and dragging all the air from here upwards.

/09/25 Sat. Ragasa is moving westward now and another tropical storm is brewing to follow it

/09/25 Mon. Super typhoon Ragasa has caused a great deal of damage in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, and the tropical storm Bualoi has developed into a typhoon, so we will sit and wait for a few more days as we don't want to cross Balabac Strait in heavy weather or be trapped in Balabac town for days!

/09/25 Tues. Yet another anniversary - 62 years since I walked through the gates of HMS Raleigh and signed on for 12 years in the Royal Navy, and here I am, still on a boat!

/09/25 Sat. We are still sitting in the pond and looking at the weather, typhoon Bualoi has passed Luzon now and is heading for Hanoi, we may be able to cast off tomorrow morning.

/09/25 Sun. Slipped our lines to Shelley at 1000hrs and motored out of the pond, setting course for Balambangan Island. Ran into 1.5 metre waves, and 17 knots of wind on the stbd bow.  Anchored in Balambangan at 1600.

/09/25 Mon. Weighed anchor at 0700 and made our way through the narrows and out into Balabac Straits.  With two thirds genoa out, we made our way across the straits and dropped anchor in Balabac Town at 1600.

/09/25 Tues. Left Balabac at 0715 heading north east in variable winds, thunderstorms, nil visibility and 1.5 metre swells.  What happened to the forecast of following winds for a week? Rain stopped at 1500 and we anchored off Bataraza in San Antonio Bay at 1730.
